About
Real food. Honest numbers. No fuss.
Healthy Recipes was built for people who want to eat well without turning nutrition into a second job. Every recipe on this site is tested for taste first, then checked against nutritional data to make sure the numbers are accurate and meaningful.
How We Calculate Nutrition
Nutritional values are calculated using a combination of USDA food composition data and verified food databases. Each ingredient is weighed in its most common preparation state — cooked weight for proteins, dry weight for grains. Where values vary by brand or preparation method, we use conservative mid-range figures. All calculations are per serving as specified in the recipe.
Editorial Standards
Every recipe is tested before publication. We do not publish recipe approximations or untested ideas. If we claim a dish is high in protein or under 500 calories, we can show the maths. We update recipes when ingredient data changes or when a better preparation method is discovered.
